Open Meeting and AGM February 25th 7-9pm at the Berry Head Hotel

We would love to see you at our forthcoming open meeting and AGM on Tuesday 25th February from 7-9pm at the Berry Head Hotel.

This meeting includes:

1. AGM – a report of the previous year, our finances and election of officers for 2025/26 – don’t worry we keep this part relatively short!
2. Brixham “public realm” and future development plans. – Torbay Council is finalising plans for £750k investment in Brixham town centre – including festoon lighting, Big Belly Bins, improved signage and much more. The council also is also developing plans for port improvements and the central car park. We are delighted that council officers will be coming to this meeting to outline plans including Q&A (speaker TBC)
3. SWW Recovery Fund – Brixham and the surrounding area have been awarded nearly £1m for destination marketing, and a further £250k for a ‘legacy project’, by South West Water. We’ll be updating on the current plans for how this money is being spent.
4. Pilgrim – One of our heritage trawlers, and a new member to the Chamber. Tim Bunker and Richard Kirby will be talking about Pilgrim’s rich history and their future plans.
5. Seagrass – This precious plant which grows in the waters around Brixham absorbs more CO2 per square metre than rainforests. But seagrass is in serious decline. Dr Andrew Bowkett of Wild Planet Trust will be talking about local conservation efforts and how we can help.
