Open Meeting

Join us for our latest open meeting where we will be focusing on the following:

1. My Bay – a new scheme set up by Torbay Council for Torbay residents. This new scheme launches in January 2025 and it will create great opportunities for businesses to connect with local residents.
2. South West Water business compensation scheme – in mid August, SWW informed local businesses that the scheme for compensation was ended from July 22nd. This is despite SWW director Dan Maycock telling us at our last open meeting on July 16th that there was no end date in sight. We will lead a discussion about the options we as a business community have in response to this change of direction. 
3. Cruise Ships visiting Brixham – The English Riviera BID company is encouraging growing numbers of cruise ships to visit Torbay, and often offering a day trip to Brixham. We’ll be talking of our experiences of the visits which happened earlier in the summer and our plans to make this a valuable additional revenue stream for Brixham businesses in the years to come.
4. Shoalstone Pool – Jessica Stock will be talking about their season to date and the current fundraising and repair plans.
5. Member update – A Kick up the Arts. Mike and Sarah Bell launched a new art gallery on Bolton Street earlier this year, and will be introducing themselves and their business.
6. Member update – Brixham Development Academy. Shaun Langdon will be telling us about the work he does with his football academy.
