Biography
Welcome to the happy world of Flossy and Jim!
The business was created by illustrators Lynette and James to promote happiness and well-being, and all of the illustrations are created with this in mind.
“Flossy and Jim’s mission is to make the world a sunnier, funnier and more imaginative place!”
With their use of bold, bright colours, comical iconic images and feel good phrases, the brand hopes to encourage positivity and boost self esteem. With their off the wall sense of humour and digital skills, ‘Flossy and Jim’ have created a whole range of designs, which are great for babies through to millennials, with the bright and fun illustrations suited to both boys and girls across the age group.
Since graduating at the University of Plymouth, with a BA (Hons) degree in illustration and visual communications, the illustrators started trading as ‘Flossy and Jim Ltd’ in May 2013, where they built an extensive portfolio of work, featuring in Heat magazine, Warehouse, Accessorize and MTV with app illustrations. The business has been commissioned globally for rebranding projects, educational tools, character development, food packaging and childrens book illustrations.
In 2015 the business won the Excellence Award for ‘Best New Business’, and in 2016 also won ‘Best Business Blog’ at the TorbayHour Social Media Awards, and went on to win the prestigious Devon Venus Awards for ‘Customer Service’, and are now representing Devon in the finals! (That’s pretty rad right?!)
As part of the company’s mission to make the world a sunnier place, Flossy and Jim are really pleased to be able to support and sponsor Circus Starr for disadvantaged children. Every year the organisation provides over £1.3 million worth of free tickets to children, their families and community groups throughout the UK.
