Persimmon homes have informed us that the Windy Corner phase 3 roadworks will commence on Monday 16th September 2024. They are programmed to complete by Christmas 2024.
Dartmouth Road and Brixham Road will remain open at all times, but with temporary traffic lights, which will be slower than the permanent lights.
This final phase will start with the removal of the existing traffic islands. At times they will be run on a 3 way light and others on a 4 way light sequence.
To help speed up traffic and minimise disruption, Langdon Road access to the A379 will be closed. (Whilst disruptive for Galmpton residents, last time the traffic flow didn’t work and cars could wait back at Lupton House for half an hour without really moving – we recognise that something has to be done differently this time and this is the developers’ solution.)
We’ve been told that the traffic lights will be manned at all times from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday in an attempt to ease congestion.
