Updated information about the Business Claims process for affected businesses.

We’ve been given a thorough outline of the business compensation claims process now. The key elements are:

  1. The claims are valid for any business based within the “affected area” – this is anyone who at any point received a Boil Water notice. We are seeking clarification on what you can do if your business was affected but you are located outside the area (there are many such businesses).
  2. The business should call the dedicated South West Water number: 03332 343 293
  3. You should hear back from DAC Beechcroft within 48 hours
  4. You’ll need to submit evidence of your losses / incurred costs, NB it is lost PROFIT not turnover which is being assesses.
  5. All claims will be interim claims and can be followed up later with additional claims.
  6. Interim offers should be made within 7 days of all the required information being provided.

Dan Maycock, the director of SWW who is overseeing the process, and a senior representative of DAC Beechcroft, will be attending our open meeting on 16th July. You are more than welcome to come along to meet them and ask specific questions about your own business.
